I think the power supply modules have failed on my computer. It died suddenly during use. Anyone have broken iMac with parts they might be interested in selling?

there's one on used ottawa at the moment.  500$ tho, extremely overpriced.  not sure  he knows its not worth that anymore!!!  i wouldn't pay more then 130$ at the most for that model.

hope that helps you out!

I agree he's over priced, but these are getting very hard to find. And I don't think I've ever seen a working one go for less than $200. I actually love the way they look. I have two of them! I might eventually sell one of them, if I can decide which one I want to keep. Definitely not for parts though. I got my second one because I was going to swap the 17 inch screen with the 15 inch screen on my 1 GHz, but when I took them apart, I saw that I would have to do some major surgery. I'm not going to do that to two working systems that I love!

Yeah, the iMac G4 aka 'iLamp' was definitely a classic design that has held up well since it's introduction in 2002. I think the quality of the arm was such that it was too costly to continue that or similar designs.

I do love how easy it is to re-position the screen and say, bring it closer to you, or push it back out of the way when you're done. It's a G4/PPC, so no Snow Leopard, but Tiger 10.4 should be fine, and some folks have got Leopard 10.5 working. Still a fine-looking machine for casual browsing/email/word-processing or iTunes.

PPS. For aficionados of trailing edge hardware, lowend.mac is a must-bookmark site: 15" iMac G4/700 MHz, 800 MHz

Sacrilege! But couldn't resist. Now this is a real 'lampshade' model:
