Overview:

Apple is a company that strives to keep itself ahead of the technology curve.

One example of this appeared in early 2002, when Apple's new line of Power Mac G4 computers debuted with dual display capability. Apple continued the trend with the "mirrored drive door" model of the G4, and with the all-new G5 machines.

These computers all offer support for digital video, and are designed to work with Apple's stunning digital flat panel displays.

By providing dual display capability on the standard video card, Apple gave its customers the opportunity to buy one (or two) of its high-end displays, but left those of us with working VGA displays out of the game.
