Looking for iPods

The Arnprior Public Library has partnered with a local seniors residence to introduce the iPod Project to the 60 residents at the Grove Nursing Home.  The inspiration for this project was the screening of the Alive Inside documentary. The fundraising campaign is asking for a donation of used iPods (particularly shuffles and nanos) that are no longer used.  We looked at other players, but these early incarnations of the iPod are fantastic for their "intelligent simplicity"  :)

We will purchase music for personalized playlists and give these devices new life.
It's a full circle intergenerational community project involving High School students to help with the interview process to determine each resident's playlist and then loading the devices from the library's laptop. Students get their community hours. The library will purchase the music and sign out the iPods on an extended loan.  Each device will be permanently mounted onto a 5x7 sheet of plexi glass to prevent the iPods from getting lost in laundry etc.
