Good evening to All
I need Information  (what else is new).
I would like to burn Programs on a Blue-Ray Disk.
Toast 11 can do that but after burning the movies i would like to have ended up
with the DVD Format.
And as Blue-Ray do not have Re-Write Disks i would hate to waste a good disk.
So i have to make sure of myself, as to what i am doing is right the first time.
Hope this explains enough.

I had to go pass a written test in order to be able to keep driving
Everyone whom is 80yrs of age and plus must go thru this test.
They give you 30 Qestions i missed one, i'm so upset with myself.
Good luck to whomever is due to write this test.

Hi Plume

Could you expand a bit on what you're trying to do?

You can burn Blue Ray disks with Toast, if you have the Blue Ray plug-in, and the disk will play in any BR player, if it's a video.

If you're burning data to a Blue Ray, same thing - it will only be readable in a BR player.

I guess I'm having trouble understanding what you mean by "DVD format".

Can you explain in a bit more detail?

Happy Mac'ing!

Hello Dan
I know that All Disks will play as long as it as been burnt with a DVD Format
But i was not sure about the Blue-Ray disks.
So i went ahead and burnt a program 2.5GB.
And then tried it on my player and it played.
So now can i assume that it will play on any Player, as
i used the DVD Format.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Plume

I am not sure why you would want to burn things to BluRay unless they were very large. If you burn the same movie file to a DVD and a BluRay disk you will not see any difference between them. The only advantage that BluRay provides is it allows for larger, higher resolution files.

So, if your movie is:
4GB or less, use a DVD
8GB or less, use a dual layer (DL) DVD
23 GB or less, use a BD-R disk
46 GB or less, use a DL-BD-R

Note that these sizes are smaller than the "advertised" size of the media, but are reasonable limits.
It also is possible to get rewritable BluRay disks. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray_Disc_recordable
