When trying to access my main account on my MacBookPro, I get the dreaded "You are unable to log in to the user account <username> at this time." message.

I created another admin account so that I could try to reset the password.  However, for the faulty account, the "Reset password" button is blanked out.

Does anybody have any suggestion about what I could try to regain access to that account?

I am running 10.4.11 on a MBP (core 2 duo) and the problem account has filevault enabled.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you're running out of disk space?

Anyway, boot up with your Leopard disk and from the main installer screen pick Change Password from the Utilities menu. This will allow you to change any user's password, but I don't think that's your problem. Boot into an account you can use to see if disk space is the problem. Free up as much as space as possible - 10-15 GB at a minimum, more is better.

Let us know how it works out....

Happy Mac'ing!

Cryil, when you get back in by booting off your Leopard disc and following Dan's excellent advice, consider disabling the filevault feature. That can get you into a world of pain unless you're a power user. It's not enabled by default for a reason.
