Just to be a bit more specific, this is for a PowerMac MDD 1.25ghz.
I have a 400 mhz G4 PM and the optical drive from it doesn't fit in the 1.25ghz.

My apologies, the one I referred to is in an external firewire enclosure.

In my PowerMac MDD 1.25ghz the top one is

Most drives should work or at least should be able to be made to work with your Mac. Have a look at the following link for a drive compatibility database:
