For any Mugoo-ers who are CBC Radiophiles and who enjoy time-shifting by listening to their favourite CBC shows an hour or two earlier or up to 3 hours later on their Mac, CBC has changed their URLs.

The old WMA-based URLs would open up in Safari to play, and you'd have to ensure that you had installed the free Quicktime add-on, Flip4Mac, in order to play these Microsoft WMA files on your Mac. These URLs are no longer working (at least for me).

The new MP3-based URLs open up (for me) in iTunes. And there are more CBC stations available now. I've listed just the CBC Radio One stations below, but CBC Radio Two and Three stations are also available. Even though the URL names suggest 96Kbps, iTunes reports, for the couple I spot-checked, the MP3 streams as: 80kbps Internet Audio Streams.

Thanks Ben!

I also enjoy CBC's free iPhone/Touch app, which I find is easier to navigate than the iTunes Radio section. They also have "canned" content, which is great if you want to go back and catch a show you missed, but mostly I use it for real-time listening. NFB also has a great free app for iPhone/Touch that allows you to screen most of the stuff in their archive.

Happy Mac'ing!
