cable phone with DSL internet?

I'm expecting to switch to cable phone service, but have interenet on DSL with Storm.  It works fine, but Storm tech who has always been helpful, said that he doesn't know of anyone running the two together.  The cable people say they can do it.  Who do I believe?  Do any of you run it that way?

I expect that the Storm DSL connection is via your (Bell) phone line, so if you want to keep the DSL working on that line you will need a "dry copper" or "naked DSL" connection, which is essentially the phone line without any phone service on it. However, Storm offers both DSL Highspeed and cable highspeed, so they should be able to switch your service. If the Storm tech has not suggested that scenario, I would be prepared for lots of service calls to get it working.

Or did I completely misunderstand you and you want to have both dry copper and cable for redundancy?

Thanks,  I've given up since it seems that in the long run it's not going to save me much money.  I'll think about it again in a year and then perhaps switch totally to cable.  Storm didn't suggest they could provide the cable internet; interesting to note.
