Cdn Price for OS X.4 ?

I see the US price is $129, which should be around 159.95 $Cdn.

A bit steep, Apple - for a company that issues annual major revisions of its current OS.

Let's compare notes here on price, altho I suppose and would wager that price will be very tightly controlled.

What's with those discount coupons Apple always includes in its boxed software, anyway ?   Seems they never give you a chance to use them for anything, so why bother with them?   I just upgraded from ILife 4 to 5 and had to pay the full price, despite having received discount (??) coupons with Ilife 4.

Am I missing something ?

reah, but M$ doesnt expect you to shell out that amount EVERY YEAR.

Dude.  Apple doesn't "expect" you to shell out anything.  It blows my mind how people get upset by being offered something new for any amount larger than free.  Do a cost/benefit analysis!  If the provided value is $149, then scoop it up.  On the other hand if you don't want it, don't buy it -- your computer will keep on working just as it has been.
