Hi!

Sounds like your download is:

a) corrupt,
b) for OS 9
c) needs admin privileges to install.

So,

a) If it is corrupt you can trash the stuffit file you downloaded and simply re-download. If you just want to un-stuff files you need Stuffit Xpander which is free, here's the URL:

http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/download.html

If you want the capability to stuff and un-stuff files, you'll want Stuffit Standard which is a free demo for thirty days at this URL:

http://www.stuffit.com/cgi-bin/stuffit_loginpage.cgi?standardmac

b) Make sure you download the Mac OS X version!

c) I doubt that your problem is privilege related. If this was the problem - nothing would install! Do you have more than one user account? To check, go under the Apple and pick System Preferences. In the preferences window, choose Accounts. You should see one user listed as an admin, possibly more with either admin or Standard privileges. Make sure you are logged in with an account that has admin privileges. If not, log out and log back in as a user that has admin privileges. Only admin users can install apps OR change users to admin level!

Hope this helps,

Dan
