Installing a compatible video card

I am considering putting an ATi Radeon 128 mb x600 pci express , in my Mac tower G4 466 digital audio . The card has dvi and s-vid out , I wonder would this card or another pci card work , that is not specific to Mac , and would the s-vid be recognised ? Any help would be greatly appreciated , Thanks very much .

A G4 466 doesn't have PCI-Express slots, so you can't use that card in it.
It does have a 4X AGP slot, so you can use Mac Compatible AGP cards in that slot, that are AGP 1x, 2x, or 4x
It also has REGULAR PCI slots, so you can use Mac Compatible Regular PCI cards in those slots.

There are a number of PC Compatible AGP and PCI cards which can have their ROMs flashed to make them Mac Compatible (and sometimes they can be flashed back to make them PC compatible again).

You can try Googling for that information.
I believe www.xlr8yourmac.com has some info on it you can find about this, and I'm sure that other sites have info on this too.

Many of the ATI retail cards have s-video out. Check out http://www.ati.com/products/mac.html for their current offerings. Generally PC ATI cards cannot be flashed for use in Mac, you will have better lick with nVidia products or even the venerable old 3dFx line.
