1 - OneNote on all your devices - with Neil Herber
Neil had originally considered giving a presentation on LiquidText.  This app is available for iOS, macOS and Windows 10.  It works with the Apple Pencil and captures your reading, notes, highlights, annotations and observations but goes further to reveal their connections to source materials and each other.  The program is good for Mind Maps and keeping track on where items came from.  It may well suit your needs; however, the cost is $40 Canadian per device, which was a bit much for the purpose of giving a MUGOO demo.

OneNote is a somewhat similar app from Microsoft, which is free for every device.  The only requirement is that you must have a OneDrive storage account (where the first 5GB is free) or you can obtain a free Outlook account.  OneDrive gives you full access to the Microsoft Office suite of web services.

Neil’s handwritten presentation was prepared using OneNote and he was able to demonstrate the various features using both an iPad and MacBook Air.  Highlights are transparent and are on a different layer.  OneNote can have multiple notebooks, each with different sections and section groups.  It visually looks like a binder with tabs.  Pages within sections can have subpages.

You can share pages/notebooks with other OneNote users, import PDFs and other image files, audio, weblinks, and equations.  With the Windows version you can handwrite an equation and have it OCR’d to symbolic text.  You can also move pages around.  The web clipper for portions of a page is supported on the Mac (with Chrome or Firefox, not Safari) but on an iPad you have to clip the entire page.  There are good tutorials available on YouTube.

2 - Mini Topics
Zoom Fatigue
- with David Rhynas
Zoom Fatigue refers to the tiredness or feelings of burnout that many have experienced after video calls. It's really a thing and there are now cognitive studies which describe why and what we can do about.  You can see David's remarks and presentation in the attachments below.

iOS Control Centre - with Wally Kuzmicz
Wally tethered his phone and gave a presentation on the ever expanding iOS Control Centre. This capability was first introduced as part of iOS 7 in 2013. It gives iOS devices direct access to important settings by swiping a finger down from the top of the display.  The Control Center was also added to Macs in macOS Big Sur, released in November 2020.

There are 7 fixed controls at the top and up to 24 optional that can be added. For most of the controls, a Long-Press gesture or 3D Touch in more recent devices will present additional options.

Wally gave brief demo for many of the controls

This is a very useful capability that we all should become more familiar with.
