1. News and Views. What new hardware/software/otherware did you get for Christmas?
2. Boos and hoos. What were you hoping to receive for Christmas but didn?t?

4. December's Show and Tell is being extended to the January meeting. December's meeting was a rollicking discussion amongst the 7 or 8 in attendance, with 4 demos. If you have a project you didn't get to present, this is your opportunity. Why wait till next December?

These instructions were discussed at the January 2016 meeting. They can be very helpful in the event that Safari is hijacked (unable to quit Safari) or other symptoms.  This can result from responding to a phishing Flash update popup, or other causes.  It's a good idea to print these instructions and have them handy in the event of a problem.  .txt  and .pdf versions of the instructions are also attached...

What to do If you Receive Intrusive Phishing Malware.

Symptom Sample:
a. Screen Flashes
b. Message appears that advising you that you have a major virus
c. Call a 1 800 or 1 888 number?

1. Don?t panic | Stay Calm
2. DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR PASSWORDS or CREDIT CARD Information

a. You probably won?t be able to Quit Safari, so this is what you can do to get operation, at least for a start.

1. Go under the Apple to Force Quit | Force Quit Safari
2. Restart your computer, but.
3. Hold down the SHIFT KEY when booting, and keep it held down

4. After you are operational, Launch Safari, WITH SHIFT KEY held down
5. When Safari launches, go to Menu Bar and Select HISTORY
6. Down at bottom DELETE HISTORY

7. Restart your computer, and see if you are operational without the malware indicator.

8. Go to www.adobe.com, and go to MENU at top right

9. Select Adobe Flash Player from bottom line
10. Install Adobe Flash Player - Latest version

MOST IMPORTANT.
11.  Follow Instructions. At the Final Stage of Flash installation YOU MUST QUIT SAFARI, so the upgrade can be installed correctly.

If you have further problems, give me a call.

DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR COMPUTER PASSWORD, or Credit Card number.
That is what the Inglorious Bastards really want.
