3. Virtualization demo, how to run different operating systems on the same computer, with Neil Herber.
4. And another kick at Photos with the participation of the MUGOO club and Ferriss High no time for this one!

The meeting is held at Nepean Public Library Room 1B (Inside Ben Franklin Place)

Legally, you are only allowed by Apple to run virtual versions of OSX starting with 10.6 Server. Desktop version from 10.7 (Lion) and above can also be virtualized.

To install OSX onto a product like VirtualBox, you need a disk image of the installer. See:

From my experience and what I could find on the net, VirtualBox (free) has not been able to load OSX since mid-2014. You may have some luck (I did not) with older versions:

However, VMWARE (30 day free trial, then costs $) does work:

Note that in general, you CANNOT install a version of OSX directly onto a given machine that is older than the OS that shipped with the machine.

The Apple installers check the hardware and will not allow installs that violate this rule. However, VMWARE does allow you to install "older" versions as a virtual machine even if the native hardware does not support it.
