I have an older Imac Power PC and the graphics card (ATI Radeon X600),  has crapped out on it. Does anyone have any advice for repair on the cheap? I was quoted 1500$ by Carbon.
Thanks

What type of Mac was it?

You should be able to buy a used PPC iMac (or better) for <$200
I would look at replacing the computer.
Remove the RAM, which might be able to be added to the replacement (this may guide you as to the type of replacement).
And remove the HD - it could be popped into an external case, as an option, too.

Is it an iMac G5 (an all-in-one, computer and monitor?)
PPC technology is pretty cheap these days - being unloaded in favour of Intel machines.
If you don't need PPC tech, I'd upgrade to an Intel mac.
