FS:MacLC and various sw to go and Performa 5200 query

Now the question:
My OS8.5 CD has gone AWOL and my Performa 5200CD will not complete the startup routine without freezing, including after a desktop rebuild. It has been working fine for my son to do his report writing, which he then transferred with floppy-net to the computer at school. Now he's pushing me to fix it ... Any suggestions to obtain either a floppy set or the CD to get it properly back together?
