I'm a Rogers/Yahoo user. OS X 3.4.9

Rogers was no help. Would love to be able to use the "Mail" icon to send mail. Can anyone talk me through it?

Open the "Mail" application.
Under the word MAIL in the menu bar, select PREFERENCES.
At the top of the window that opens, select ACCOUNTS.
In the bottom left of the window, select the PLUS sign (+).
Now enter the information from Rogers to create a new account.
Close the Preferences window and your in business.

Well you could vote with you wallet and send a message to Rogers at the same time by cancelling your Rogers Hi-speed and letting them know why. And then take your ISP business to Bell, who do document and support attaching Macs to their high-speed service. :)  But if you want a faster and less drastic fix, Apple has a 'setting up Mail' tutorial here:

Setting up Mail in Mac OS X: docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106683

Rogers support the Mac, and I thought they had how to setup Mail documented, but when I just checked their site, I could only find references to how to setup Outlook or Entourage.  They have an "Other Email Clients", but they just give you the info. to fill in if you know what you're doing   http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/rogers/mail/pop/

Man, i thought Rogers had info on setting up Mail. It's not that hard.  Here's a simple step-by-step

Open Mail.
Select Add Account... from File Menu
Select POP as the Account Type
Put an account description in Account Description (the email address is good)
Put your name in Full Name (your real name or what you want on your emails)
Put your email address in Email Address
Hit continue

Put pop.broadband.rogers.com in Incoming Mail Server
Put your user name in User Name  (the part of your email address before the @Rogers.com)
Put your password in Password
Hit continue

(Mail will try to find the pop server)
Put smtp.broadband.rogers.com in Outgoing Mail Server
Click the Use Authentication box
Put in your User Name and Password again
Hit continue

(Mail will try to find the smtp server and then present a summary of the info you gave it)
Hit continue

You can also manage accounts by selecting Mail Menu, Preferences and selecting the Accounts icon
