I have an iMac G4 700 that I currently use everyday. I'm considering getting an iBook and sharing my highspeed connection. Here's my question: Will the fact that the iMac is sharing it's internet access through  it's Airport card (not airport extreme), affect the internet access for the iBook? Will it be slower?

Apparently this isn't the place to post questions concerning macs????

Registered with ehMac.ca and got my answer right away. I'll stick with them from now on.

I'm not bitter but I am little disappointed that I couldn't get help from within my own community.

cheers.

Pretty amazing that they could answer a question you never even asked! Tried to find your thread on ehmac, but according to them you have never posted there. How did you get the answer?

darren.lafond

Didn't need to ask the question as their were several threads with the same subject:

here's an example:

Yea, but this isn't Ehmac! This is Mugoo.Plus if you look at your first post, at the top of the page, you are simply just making a statement,........not asking any question; unless I am missing something here,
or is this an invisable question?.........like your the only one who can see it. Were not mind readers here.
How are we possibly supposed to know what you are asking!

the original post was very clear...it was a question and im sorry i wasnt here before to anwser your question, your speed of internet access will not be slowed, the NON-extreme airport cards are rated as B version which has a transfer rate of 10mbs, your average internet access is 3-5mbs so your internet is going to be fine its going to be your computer to computer transfers.

i know you already got your anwser but in the future please give us your questions and hopefully we can be more speedy with a postß

Thanks powerbookG417 for bringing back some integrity and class to this forum.

As you can see, I still monitor the forum regularly.
