Firefox

I'm having unusual issues with Firefox today—buttons that won't click, javascript which is not recognized by sites that want it, and yes, it's enabled.  I'm in Firefox 18 on a new Mac Mini with Mtn Lion.  Where should I start looking?  Thanks

Well, I think I've solved it and I think this is how.  I was talking to Apple about another problem and the advisor led me through trashing a wide variety of files from various hidden locations.  So I also trashed files labelled Firefox and downloaded a new copy.  It appears to work, so far.
