Hi, my G4 Imac won't start.  No noise, fan or anyting else.  Power plug shows 120 v on my multimeter. Didn't have any problem with the computer before this.  Could the battery (original) be the problem?  If so, how do I check it and replace?  Any other possibilities?
Thanks in advance.

It doesn't sound hopeful. Here's a take-apart article that will help you measure voltage on the mainboard:

First thing to do after verifying your power source is reset the PMU. Disconnect the power cord. Remove the user access panel from the bottom of the computer. Press the PMU reset switch (shown below) once on the bottom side of the logic board and then
proceed to the last step. Do NOT press the PMU reset switch a second time because it could crash the PMU chip. WAIT ten seconds before connecting the power cord and powering the computer on. If the computer powers on, you're done. If not, the next thing to check is the internal battery. Should read +3.5 volts or better. STILL not working? - time to start swapping modules, i.e. take to your nearest AppleService Depot.
