Disk

Good Morning
Thank you for the help that you have given me in the past.
I use to have a G4 Computer, but i now have a G5 Version 10.5.8.
I installed a Disk that i had back when i had the G4.
But it now tells me that it is not compatible with my G5 and the disk does not work anymore.
If it is because of the version G5 that i now have that the disk will not install.
I then am willing to give the Disk away to someone whom still has Version G4.
The Disk is called ( The Family Doctor ).
Or is there a way to make it work on my Computer.

I'm not positive, but I believe the disk you have is intended for Macs running the precursor to OS X, that is, it's designed for OS 9 or or OS X in "Classic" mode - a "cross-over" or "compatibility" feature of early versions of OS X which is no longer available as of OS X 10.5. There is no easy way to run it on your G5 running OS X 10.5, though there are some OS 9 emulators available for OS X - google Basilisk/SheepSaver if you're curious - but they are "hacks" and the installation is non-trivial for casual users. I checked with the publisher to see if they ever updated the program for OS X - they didn't. Oh well, Google is probably a better reference tool for medical queries.

Good Morning Dan
I have wanted to reply to you long before now, but could not.
I wanted to thank you for your information, i have to admit, which is not the first time that i am not a Computer Whiz.
So if some of you'se doubt some of the questions that i ask, you have every reason to.
It is unfortunate, as i have some apparatus that could of been used by others.
Such as Complete installation of original Version #9 on Disk.
What a pity, unfortunetly if the world stood still we surely would not be advanced as far
as we are now.
But if someone can use the Disk, they are welcome to them.
And i will find a way to get it to them.
The weather here is suppose to be 10º Celcius today (BEAUTIFUL).
Spring is just around the corner.
