Hiya,
Lately, everytime I go to my mail, the system asks me for my password.....did not do this until a few days ago. My question is Hos do I stop this and make the password entry a permanent one ?
Thanks
Is this when you actually try to launch the Mail application, or when you either try to send mail or to retrieve mail?
If it is accessing the Mail application, you may have to adjust an Account setting in System Preferences.
If it is retrieving mail, in the Mail preferences, Account Information tab, you may need to set/retype your password for the particular account you are trying to retrieve mail from. If you've changed your account, or added another, make sure each account's password is set.
If it is sending mail, maybe your ISP has made it mandatory to type in your password each time you send your first piece of mail after relaunching your Mail program, much like Rogers does for me. I think this helps prevent a mass spamming of everyone in your mailbox should a virus take over your computer (at this time, more of a Windows problem). I see that there is an option to remember the password in keychain. I don't use that, so I can't tell you what happens if you check that option.
Hope this helps.

thanks Mike.
I have reset my password as you suggested. It definitely was happening when i tried to retrieve mail but may have happened on other occasions too. In any event, I will keep your note for future reference.
Cheers
