Anyone upgrading? My kids are always on my Imac since it's now the only comp in the house connected to the net and I hate pulling rank on them. Can't afford a new one. Not sure what else you have but we need at least something that will run Garage band as that's the most popular program..

What do you want for nothing, a Rubber biscuit??
That was a PRETTY good deal. The regular price for that mini was $629. They were throwing in the printer and ms office. I was on my way there (Compusmart) and turned back. Even at that price it's more than I should spend. Problem is I have 2 functional pc's in the basement. I hate running AV, Anti spyware, ect but might just put off the mini for a while and let the kids use the Imac while I go back to a pc.
From the point of view of sharing war stories, dig this:
Compusmart online was actually selling the mac mini, printer, MS Office package referred to above for $430 about 3 weeks ago. I think it may have been an error. I didn't ask any questions and snapped one up lickety split. About a week later I looked to see if the deal was still on (probably dreaming about buying 2 or 3 more--if I could have found a reason to justify doing that--and the money, of course) but bang, the price had been raised to $629. Still a good deal, but not $430.
True story! And the moral of the story, a la "the squeaky wheel . . . ": visit your favourite retail or online dealer spots on a regular basis--even if you don't buy anything--so you'll see those great deals when they happen. Unless you have a life, of course . . .

I think z-man meant something is wrong with the printer size in comparison with the Mac Mini. Someone's been photoshopping that picture because if the printer is that size in relation to the Mac Mini, it won't print on letter paper. It looks like a photo paper printer.

Yeah, I knew he was reffering to the odd picture (itsy bitsy printer). I was reffering to the fact the printer was basically free, so, we shouldn't complain...
So, with all of that aside, are you still looking for a Mac Mini? If so, are you looking for an Intel or G4-based Mini? Lastly, how much are you willing to spend?

Actually, I've put that on hold unless some fantastic deal comes along, like that $430. package mentionned in one of the above posts. I managed to get one of our old pc running Linux and Win XP which helps get most of us on the net when we want to, but it's still a pc and no Itunes.... I'm also (now) looking at the Flat panel 17" Imacs, to see what I can get for a reasonnable price. What have yee (got)..?
