Greetings fellow Mac enthusiasts,
First I just want to mention that I've found really valuable information on these boards. Thank you!
Now I'm looking for a way to export my emails from Netscape 7 for Mac OSX, convert them and import them to an email program that would work on my PC laptop (Windows XP). I know, I know I should just get a Mac laptop, and I'm hoping to do that eventually - it's a pain to see and use Windows! But for now I need to use this PC, and I need my emails. Am I dreaming, or is it possible to do that?
I've come across some webpages that recommend different softwares, but either the links were dead or the program would not work properly. Ideally, I would need something that would preserve all my folders and subfolders. My total mailbox size is like 250mb. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Maha
I believe Netscape 7 and Thunderbird both use the UNIX MBOX format for the various IN, OUT, etc. folders. Transferring them to your ..ahem... PeeCee should not be very difficult if you can find the correct location on the respective machine's directories. You didn't say what mail client you would be using on your ...ahem... PeeCee, but I will guess you're using Outlook Express or something similar, or hopefully something that uses the MBOX format. There are some incompatibilities using Eudora and other clients that do not strictly follow the MBOX format. Don't feel too bad about using a PeeCee because I have had very poor luck transferring email from one client to another even when they're all Macs! More specific instructions can be found at:

Good luck!

Hi,
I have found a great utility for converting your e-mails ... It has been given the name "Universal e-mail import / export utility. You can download a demo (limited version) by going here : http://www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/index.html .
