Hi everyone,
I am looking for an older Operating System on 1.44 diskettes, anything from System 8.0 and down.
As I put together older Mac systems for people who have notthing, I have an older LC III to set up, but I no longer have any sysemts on Diskettes, so any and all help would be apreciated.
Let me know what you have.
Regards,
Denis
Check http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/syslist.html for systems 7.6.1 and below. Apple used to have these on their site for free, but I can't find them there.
Perhaps this is the link you are looking for, AdminMan...

Thanks,
Apple does not offer any systems for free, that where ever sold, one can only upload updates to the original systems.
I am also not equiped to transfer any kind of information onto 1.44 diskettes, I have not use diskettes for the last 5 so years, since the olde3r G3, everything comes on CD's and now DVD's.
I have just checked the specifications on the LC III and the maximum system to be used is 7.6.1
It origianlly came with 7.1
WOW, that takes me Noah's Arc. lol

I guess no one told the guys who posted the Wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_7_(Macintosh)
QuoteApple created and published an "Older Software Downloads" webpage on their AppleCare Support website on July 17, 2001. Since then diskette images to install System 7.0, System 7.0.1, and System 7.5.3 as well as the System 7.5.5 Update have been available as free downloads for legacy Macintosh users and those who want to emulate the older Mac OS.
Still doesn't get them onto floppies for you.
I have System 7.5.3 on 19 diskettes and Update 3.0 to bump it up to 7.5.5
