I've got the latest lightweight 12" Powerbook, five months old. It's great, but I have decided to sell it. (been given notebook from work.)
The deal:
- 12" screen
- 768Mb RAM
- 80 Gig hd
- Superdrive (burns DVDs and cds)
- Built-in wireless Airport Extreme (or whatever the fast one is. Not sure the name.)
- 1.5gHz G4 (so it's the fastest 12" Apple has ever sold).
- all original boxes/manuals, etc.
- *perfect* condition. (I even wrap it up when I carry it around, -before- I put it in its case.
- It's got 7 months left in its one-year Apple Warranty.
- It's running Tiger, 10.4.5, runs VirtualPC 7 just fine (if you're into that sort of thing), and because it's a G4, it also runs Classic (pre-OS X) apps, too. (Any intel machines they come out with in the future won't run Classic, which is why I mention it.)
The price:
$1425 - (The Apple Store will sell you the same thing new --so with 5 extra months of warranty-- right now, for $2140 including taxes. And I suppose you could use a couple hundred of those savings to buy the extended 3 year warranty, if you were interested.) It's a pretty hefty discount for a just-bought computer, imho.
The Catch:
-I'm kind of doing this on a whim, (I really do love it), AND I am leaving with my whole family for a month-long road trip on Monday. If I don't have cash for it by Sunday evening, it's off the market, I'm taking it with me, and that's that. (I will consider the gods have decided for me.)
