Title: AsantéTalk printer bridge -- use LocalTalk printer on your network
Post by: z-mac on April 08, 2006, 05:17:02 PM
I had been using this handy device to share a fine old Apple printer across my network among a few computers, some OS X, some M-Windows. Asanté is a good company and this product is well-designed, easy to use, and very well-supported.

Mail me if you are interested.

From the manual (http://www.asante.com/downloads/userManuals/ATALK_UM.pdf):

AsantéTalk is designed to allow Apple Macintosh systems using the
on-board Apple Ethernet adapter to communicate with existing LocalTalk
devices such as printers and other Macintosh computers.
The AsantéTalk connects a LocalTalk network (or printer) and an
Ethernet network (or your computer). After you have installed it on
both networks, devices on the two networks will be able to communicate
through the AsantéTalk.
