Title: Fixing dead keys on Keyboard.
Post by: cbales on March 28, 2006, 11:53:06 AM
I've got an "Apple Pro Keyboard" USB that came with a Ruby iMac that has some dead keys after I spilled water on it.  Does anybody have any good stories of how they have fixed them? Should I just buy one of the "Microsoft Office Keyboards" I've seen at Best Buy for $15 and pray that I can get the apple/Option keys switched with the Windows/Alt key with a new keyboard map?

No problem using the $15 keyboard as purchased.  The [A]lt key is the [A]pple key and the Wind(O)ws key is the (O)ption key.
I would advise against pulling off the keys to swap them, they are not apt to be the same type of fastener on the underside.
