This is a good iBook with two problems:
1) the cd drive does not open automatically when you press the eject button. You have to give a tug on the bottom of the cd tray as you eject
2) the plastic case has popped open slightly at the rear of the screen. This leaves a noticeable gap near the hinges of around 1/8"
It has a French keyboard, which some might consider a third problem.
Screen is bright, with no dead pixles. Battery life is around 3 hours. Everything works great except for the stubborn cd drive.
Includes 256MB memory, 40GB hard disk, combo drive (play DVD's, burn CD's). Currently running MacOS X 10.4 Tiger, but no install disks available. You can find more detailed specs at http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/stats/ibook_900_14.html
I think that $525 is great value, despite the problems, but feel free to make a (reasonable) offer. Keep in mind that it is worth over $400 as parts (LCD, motherboard, memory, hard disk, keyboard, battery, charger, etc).
