Post by: druid on March 14, 2006, 09:37:36 PM
Hi relativly new to mac ,one question , when I load a downloaded disk image , after installing there is an icon that opens with the application I need to "eject" every time I  close the program . The program is not in the applications menu , I was never prompted as to where I would like to install , anyway any help? I am sure the solution is a simple one but nothing , any suggestions would be greatly appreciated , thanks.

Hi,

When you download an application off of any download site, it mounts a disk (represented by a white drive icon). The application is always found in that disk image. What you have to do is copy the application to your Applications Folder in your hard drive.  That way, it is always available to you, and you can unmount the disk image previously mounted to install that particular application.

Good luck !

If you require more assistance don't hesitate to post here.  We're here to help!
