Title: Old version of FileMakerPro
Post by: CarolDixon on May 19, 2011, 10:57:37 AM
I have given my old IMac to a friend who would like to use it to install FileMakerPro.  This is the data for the machine.

What chance of finding an application that would work on it?

Hi, and welcome to MUGOO!

FileMaker Pro 8.5 will run on that machine, although more RAM would help. That kind of RAM is getting hard to find locally, but I still see it at CanadaRAM's online store - www.canadaram.com/SDRAM.htm.

Not sure where you'd find a copy of that version of FM though - maybe someone here has an old copy?

Happy Mac'ing!

Dan

the friend has been offered a FMP version 7 - do you think it would run on the Imac i described earlier in this chain?

Hi Carol,

Yes, that should work just fine, and it's quite easy to upgrade to 8.5 should the opportunity arise.

Happy Mac'ing!
