I have an Epson RX500 all-in-one and have not been able to print from classic mode. I installed the OSX software and the OS9 drivers for the Epson. My computer is a Mac Mini with OS10.3.9. When I go to chooser (in Classic mode) I click on the RX500 icon in the left panel, but nothing shows in the right panel. I have a HP 842C printer and all works fine in both OSX and classic mode. Any suggestions from my good technical friends?
Boot up in OS 9, then install the printer in OS 9 to create a desktop printer. Open the Startup Disk control panel to choose Mac OS X. After you shut down & reboot to OS X, when you try to print from classic software it will automatically print to the desktop printer you created under OS 9. Good Luck!

Thanks for the suggestion Brian of starting up in OS9 etc; however, I can't start up from OS9, only OSX then OS9 in classic mode.
Frank.
Printing in OS 10.3.9 in OS 9
In Chooser is Apple Talk Active or Inactive
In OS X go to: System Preferences > Network > then Apple Talk Tab
Is Apple Talk box checked?
Check Apple Talk Box click apply At Bottom
Go back to Chooser is Apple Talk Active now?
Double check: click on Laser Writer 8 Does it say to make sure Apple Talk is working?
Back to:
OS X go to: System Preferences > Network
On line that says: Location it should say Automatic
On line Show:: Two choices
1) Internal modem

To Print using Apple Talk
Has To Be Set to:: Automatic and Built-in Ethernet
Click Apply Now at bottom
Now: Does the printer show up in the Chooser
