G'day, as the subject line says, it happens in Safari, Camino, Firefox and Icab.
When I try to move down a street by double-clicking that circular thingey, each browser has crashed/quit.
I'm running a PowerMac G5, dual 2 GHz, Mac OS X 10.4.11 with 4.5 GB RAM.
Recent changes have been the reformatting of my hard disk and fresh installation of the OS and apps.
Any ideas?
First guess off the top of my head is that it might be a browser plugin issue. You could consider temporarily relocating the contents of the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and ~Library/Internet Plug-Ins folders:
1) Quit all browsers
2) Create two folders on your desktop
3) Finder > Go > Go to Folder... [paste in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins ]
4) Select All and drag contents to one of the folders on your desktop
5) Finder > Go > Go to Folder... [paste in ~Library/Internet Plug-Ins ]
6) Select All and drag contents to the other of the folders on your desktop
7) Reboot, try the browsers
8) If no joy, restore to pre-test state by returning the plugins as above and rebooting
9) If success, then you know it's one of the plugins, and can try returning half to isolate which plug-in
If you're using click-to-flash, this may be the problem as well. Simply whitelist the URL - which in Canada is something like maps.google.ca.
Thee other strange thing it might be is a font conflict. Open Font Book and make sure you have no conflicts, especially with Arial. This has been discussed on Google's forums here:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/maps/label?lid=469704f9c639894a&hl=en
and here:

Trying it from a new user account should work unless it is an Internet plug-in issue, as a new account will not have any inherent font conflicts.
Several programs install fonts in your home folder, conflicting with the same fonts in the main library. Unless you're working with high-end graphics and page-layout software, this usually does not causing any problems, but it does mess up the Flash plug-in, apparently.
Good luck with the problem, and
Happy Mac'ing!

Thanks guys, I reinstalled Flash Player and everything works.
