Title: Aperture
Post by: eugedunn on December 22, 2009, 07:52:39 AM
Good Morning to all
Someone told me to download this file that it was easy to use.
Sorry, i'm not that sharp.
I found the Software Aperture very complicated.
My purpose is to take a photo and able to send it by E-Mail to all of my family.
Is there a software that will give me the same results and much easier to use and understand.

                                       Thank you for your help
                                                Plume

Hi Plume, If your needs are simple, what about trying the iPhoto app that comes with every Mac? I'm using iPhoto '09 (http://www.apple.com/ilife/iphoto/) (part of iLife '09). iPhoto's basic editing tools let you crop, adjust colour balance, and correct red eye. From within iPhoto you can mail photos, viz select one or more photos, and then from iPhoto's menu select: Share > Email > Size > Compose Message

Don McAllister has many iLife and iWork tutorials online (http://www.screencastsonline.com/apple/tutorials.html) at screencastsonline.com, including a free 30-minute on on iPhoto '09 (http://media.libsyn.com/media/donmc1/SCO0185-iphoto09-free-640x360-h264-Free-ipod.mov).

As you've discovered, "Aperture" is not for beginners or casual users. If all you need to do is send a picture by e-mail, you can simply include it in an e-mail as an attachment. You don't need any special software... although you might want to reduce the size of the picture in some cases.

If you need to small adjustments or cropping, Ben's advice is good, as usual.
