Title: 800k floppy reading Mac - buy or borrow?
Post by: JIrving on June 01, 2005, 11:07:31 AM
Does anyone have a networkable Mac capable of reading 800k floppies that I can buy (cheap) or borrow?

I have boxes of floppies I'd like to burn to CD's (Spring cleaning, mostly for nostalgic reasons). I bought an external USB floppy drive but it won't read 800k disks. Some of these disks go back to 1985! I suspect it will take a while to copy them all.

Thanks,

John

I imagine you mean Ethernet when you say networkable. If Localtalk will do, I have a Macintosh SE. $5 for the computer, or $10 with extended keyboard and mouse.
