OK, I got OSX10.3 installed on my venerable eMac, and things are running pretty smoothly. But my Samsung ML 1210 printer has a new quirk. It is printing pages in reverse order, as if it had a horizontal output try, which it doesn't. I'm pretty sure I need an updated printer driver. But Samsung seems to have stopped supporting Mac OSX a few years ago. According to discussion on the net, they did make a driver for OSX10.3 (their last one for Mac), but it doesn't seem to be available anymore from Samsung. I have seen reference to third-party drivers from Gimp Print as a possibility, but would prefer to have the Samsung driver if possible. Does anyone have a copy or know of a source?
When you tell it to print, it opens up the printer window. There you will find an option called "Collate", make sure that this option is not checked. This should get rid of your quirk.
I came across this, which lists some download sites, but have no idea on if it is what you want, or on how "clean" they are. I clicked on the first to try it, and it started an automatic download.

It is printing pages in reverse order
As MacMoore points out, there may well be an option to 'reverse' the print order in the Print Dialog window which appears when you press Command-P. MacMoore noted the option might be under "Collate".
On my USB-attached Canon IP5000 inkjet, the option is in my Print Dialog Window as a pop-up menu item called "Paper Handling". From there I can choose the "Page Order" as "Automatic", "Normal" or "Reverse". Whether the option appears or not is a function of the Print Driver being used, but I will add that it is very common.
So since "things are [otherwise] running pretty smoothly", it would definitely be time well-spent to make double-sure that there is no page-order option in the Print Dialog that is put up by your existing print driver.
good luck,

The drivers for older Samsung printers are still available. The trick is to google for "SPL2" - Samsungs PDL. I've been using this driver for years for an older 1210 and it still works under 10.5.8 on Intel or PPC. Don't know if it is 10.6 compatible. Here's the impossibly long URL to download it

Good luck and...
Happy Mac'ing!

Thanks for all the advice. Clicking off "Collate" didn't work, but turning off "Revers Page Order" under Paper Handling did. Haven't figured out yet if this will stay as the default or if I have to keep resetting it. I will try some of the suggested sites for an updated driver soon.

It should stick, but if it doesn't just save it as a named printer preset -- that's done through the 2nd top-most pop-up, labelled Presets: in the standard Print dialog that appears when you press Command-P or select Print... from under the File menu.
Thanks for the tip on creating a different printer preset. At first it only saved a couple of steps, because you can't delete the "Standard" preset, and it would revert back to Standard as the default whenever you open documents. But then I tried changing the Printer preset on the WP template, and that seems to stick, at least for new documents. A work in progress.
HELP!
Now I'm really up the creek. I went to the site Dan Millar supplied, which is the Samsung Australia site. They had a download for their Driver v2.5 for MacOX10.3. I followed the installation instructions, which included deleting the existing printer definition from Printer Setup and deleting the Samsung folder from Library. The Installation is supposedly successful, and a new Samsung folder with files is installed in Library where it should be. But when I go to Printer Setup utility, and Click on Add Printer nothing appears - no additional printers at all. I have restarted numerous times, and also tried re-installing the previous v1.0 driver and then v2.2 driver, but no improvement.
The Installation instructions that came with the installer still refer to Print Center whereas Print Center seems to have been replaced by Printer Setup utility in OSX10.3. Could this be the problem? If so how do I fix it short of re-installing OSX 10.2.8, installing the drivers, and then re-installing OSX10.3.
Well the good news is I've got my printer back on line. Thinking there might be problems with Printer Setup utility in Mac OSX 10.3, I Googled it and found Shareware Printer Setup Repair 4.2.3 from Version Tracker. I downloaded and ran it, and was able to re-install printers. (The pop-up window that is supposed to appear when you click on "Add Printer" wasn't popping up, so there was clearly a problem in the Printer Utility)
I have no idea if the correct driver version is installed - i have repeated the process several times with what is supposed to be Version 2.5, but it always shows up as v.1.2 in the "Show Info" window of Printer Setup Utility. I'm going to look through my old notes though - I think I had the same problem with v.2.0 - the driver was new but it still reads as v.1.2 in the window.
Anyway I don't care - at least I can print again.
FYI: The supplier of Printer Setup Repair is actually Fixamac software (http://www.fixamacsoftware.com), but I found it via a Version Tracker site.
