Title: Re: Burner
Post by: eugedunn on September 29, 2009, 07:47:48 AM
Good Morning to All especially Brian whom as been very helpful to me.
I have now got myself a Dual Layer Burner (thank you again Brian.
My question is should i be able to burn two Movies on a regular 4.7 DVD disk.
I know that the PC PEOPLE are able to do it, so why can I not do it, without having to use
a DUAL LAYER DISK.
I use Toast or Popcorn Software.
Is there another software that i am not aware of that i can use for that purpose.
Thank you again for your help

Good evening to all
Thank you for putting up with my comments.
But i wanted to make you aware that i was successful in burning two Movie on the same disk
of course i used a Dual Layer Disk.
I have a friend whom is capable of burning two Movies on a 4.7GB DISK he as a PC Computer.
I have a hard time accepting the fact that he can do this on his PC and we are not able to do this on our MacIntosh.
I am simply confused.
Of course i tried to find the same Software that would apply to the MacIntosh.
I have been unsuccessful.
But again, i repeat that it did work with a Dual Layer Disk
If your wondering what Movies i burned (1- Dual Diablo -2- Grease).
And they came out just great.
I used Popcorn 3
Thank you for taking the time to read this
                                    Have a great evening

What are the sizes of the files that you wish to save on the disc?

If the combined size of the files exceeds the capacity of one side of the disc, you will not be able to save them both on the same side of the disc.

And neither will your friend with the PC. (o:

His software rips and compresses the movies enough to fit them both on the disc. There's no magic here;  you can do the same with OS X.

If you download a movie from a BitTorrent site (just for the sake of experimentation, of course), you will see that a full-length movie can be compressed to about 700MB. You could fit 6 movies on a 4.7 GB DVD if each is compressed to 700MB.

Try this software:
