My wife has a new digital camera and she came back from a photo trip with two SD cards
accidentally deleted. Each card has 500-800 photos that she would like to recover.
My search of the web came up with "Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery" software for Mac.
Has anyone any comments on this software, or a suggestion for another brand ?
I am a bit suspicious of the company, as I cannot find any way to find out the cost on
their website.
SD cards in cameras usually use FAT32 formatting. There is an excellent recovery program called "Recuva" that is Windoze only, but it is worth borrowing a PC (or installing Windoze with something like Parallels) to recover the photos. I have used Recuva twice (for friends!) and it has recovered every single photo from the SD cards. It is vitally important NOT to take any more pictures on the cards before you recover them. In fact, they should be removed from the camera to avoid any accidents.

The product is free to use, but each of the people who I recovered photos for sent the author a $20 PayPal donation.
