Title: FS - Powermac G5 1.6 and 20" Cinema Display
Post by: mleitman on February 02, 2009, 02:53:34 PM
Hello all. I am new to the board.  I have a G5 Powermac with a second hard drive (120gb) and airport extreme.  I'm looking to sell it with a keyboard, mouse and 20" Cinema display (a1038).  It's in great shape and is running 10.4.9.  I really have no idea what it's worth.  I'm guessing in around $8-900.  Is there any interest?  I also welcome feedback as to appropriate pricing.

Thanks, Mitch

Here's a good place to check Used Mac prices - remember they are retail and US$ only, so discount their price 5 or 10 percent.

http://www.usedmac.com/ (http://www.usedmac.com/)

Your Mac comes to about $850 by that reckoning. Used Ottawa and Kijiji often have used Macs that you can compare with as well. There used to be a computer exchange web site run by the Boston Computer Society, but it seems to have disappeared long ago. They tracked asking/selling prices, units sold, etc., all over America and posted them like a stock exchange. If any one knows of such a site, I'd love to here about it.

Happy Mac'ing,

Dan

www.mac2sell.net can be useful for this sort of pricing estimate (as can eBay completed auctions)

You can put in the country, RAM, HD config (things which often are upgraded by the owner) and get an estimate which is usually a touch high  in my opinion - but still useful for figuring out what to ask or accept as an offer.
