Hi - received some photos from a friend which although he thought they would be jpeg files, they came in as winmail.dat.
Is there any way to change the extention to jpeg or some other groupings which would allow iPhoto to capture the pics ?
Thanks.
Unfortunately, this is a problem caused by Microsoft mail clients, and most users don't have a clue how to prevent winmail.dat files from being created. For a solution to your problem look here:

It is possible for the sender to turn off this facility, and many that I have notified have done so, but it is a slow process correcting the world. ;-)
