Hey folks,
In about a months time I'll be looking to get rid of this Mac Cube in pristine condition. The Hard drive has been upgraded to a 40 gig but other than that it is a stock machine. What price is a fair price for this?
It's actually running Leopard now and is working quite well still. Fast enough for home use, although it is a little sluggish for video work.
I'd be willing to do a cash and trade option too, but need to know what this sweetie is worth nowadays.
Thanks,
Rob
I'd think you may be able to get a 150-200 hundred dollars for it. I sold one last year for 300.00, i've watched a couple on Ebay and they've sold for anywhere between 125 and 250.00. The higher priced ones came with more RAM, i sold mine with a 40gb drive and 1.25 gig of RAM.

Did yours include the display? I was hoping for around $300 for the CPU and display but maybe I'm a bit off the mark...

It did, but the Bezel on the bottom was broken. 2 years ago, i watched a couple go for 1000.00. I thought i would hold off, thinking that it would go up in value, only to have it go the other way.
The amount of RAM is the greatest factor in determining the value of the Mac Cube. It could be worth $80 to $260 depending on how much RAM is installed. Size of HD has little effect on price.

Hi Rob!
Good question! I too have seen them posting as high as $900 recently, but I think $350-450 is more reasonable to expect. As Macs are becoming collectible, you could probably hold out for more from a collector, or sell it more quickly at the lower price. Practically speaking, it is "obsolete", particularly the display - doesn't it use the proprietary ADC connector? Still, a sweet machine, and one Apple should resurrect for their mid-size form factor, I think.
Great to see you here!
Dan
