Hello MUG,
I have a subscription to Consumer Reports Online which has very good unbiased reports on lots of items.........
They include a yearly testing of computers........but not extensive........
Which are the best unbiased sites that test, review and rate all electronic items, such as computer hardware and software where I could do some research before buying?
What about CNET, ZDNET, PC Pitstop.........?
Any good Canadian sites that cater to Canadians and Ottawans?
Thanks.
An interesting site is http://www.epinions.com/ . Not sure how unbiased they are, but supposedly all of the reviewers are users like you and me. They review everything - not just computers.
I find many reviews to be too general for my tastes. For example, I know exactly what features I want in an email client, but the typical review talks about how easy it is to add a picture to an email and tells me nothing about techincal details such as how to import or export existing emails (if you even can!).
I generally do a lot of Googling to find information about products and form my own "blended" opinion ... or I buy whatever is on sale ... :-)
