Although I haven't noticed any questions here about the iPhone (yet), do you think it would be worthwhile to add a new discussion area for iPod/iPhone/iTunes?
Sounds like a great idea, even though I'm not into that kind of thing. I'm thinking of another local board, where they did not create a serarate gaming group. Instead they lumped it in with computers. I find it a real pain to have to scroll through a bunch of gaming stuff when I'm looking for computer stuff.
A little off topic, but would it be possible for the menu of various discussion areas to display the "NEW" label for unread items as is currently the case within those discussion areas.

I am not sure what you mean. If you go to the "main" menu here:
http://mugoo.eton.ca/smf/index.php
it shows little "new" icons beside discussion areas that you have not entered since the new postings were added. As soon as you enter the discussion, the "new" flag is cleared, even if you have not read all of the new posts.
Within any discussion area, the "new" icon appears beside new posts. They are cleared when you read them.
If you want a quick way to find all of the things you haven't read, use the link near the top left of the page, just above the date, that says "Show unread posts since last visit".
And for the most recent items look for the link in the forum stats near the bottom of the page that says "View the most recent posts on the forum."
As for adding new features ... not unless SMF decides to do it!

I was looking for the "NEW" labels to appear in the "Jump to:" menu at the bottom of my home page.

Well my usenet perspective is showing, but my inclination would to be to split off a new section
after there were sufficient postings to warrant in the existing (e.g. Support (http://mugoo.eton.ca/smf/index.php?board=6.0), General Discussions (http://mugoo.eton.ca/smf/index.php?board=5.0)) sections. To encourage postings in the existing sections how about adding "iPod/iPhone/iTune" to the descriptive line under
Support, on the MUGOO Message Board (http://mugoo.eton.ca/smf/) table of contents page?
