Title: Dashboard
Post by: airforce on September 11, 2007, 07:14:00 PM
Hiya - - another newbie question...

How do I make the dashboard disappear until I need it ??? I must have touched some key or combination and now it stays on all the time.

Thanks.

Summon the dashboard genie - F12. Press shift-F12 for superscary slo-mo transition.

kool - love that superscary slo-mo transition. Didn't know about that one - not that I'd use it - I like the snappy disappear and reappear. I was wondering, though, re: airforce's question, why it doesn't just disappear if he clicks on any background application. My dashboard immediately whisks away if I click the desktop or any open app's window...

Tried the slo-mo shift/F12 suggestion but all that happens is that my screen darkens ever so slowly.  When I click anywhere on background, it brightens again.....but....alas, the dashboard remains !!!!

Help anyone ???

Cheers

Hiya - found my own answer by clicking on the Apple icon and selecting "Dock" then" Dock preferences"and then choosing "automatically show and hide the dock".....

Live and learn I guess.....thanks to those who suggested answers.

Cheers.

Oh - you meant the dock! Good you found the answer - I had no easy answer for a dashboard that won't go away! You're quite right about doing it from the keyboard by accident in the first place -  option-command-D that makes the dock appear/disappear.
