Title: need a new used monitor
Post by: drumbent on April 15, 2005, 12:17:57 AM
My aging 17" Apple monitor for my 7500 is acting up, and is now starting to shimmer and occasionally flatline (though rebooting once or twice brings the screen back up eventually).

Does anyone have a suitable 17" or larger monitor they could sell to this low-income musician?  Should I try the Mac Group?

Thanks,
Mark

A good place to buy cheap used monitors is Retro Computers on Bronson. I picked up a Samsung there a while back for $65. You can get an adaptor to use PC monitors with Macs thereby saving a lot of $$$.

Nothing against The Mac Group, very knowledgeable staff, but their prices for used stuff are on the high side.

Computer Supplyhouse on O'Connor ( I think) also has loads of cheap used monitors.

Thanks for the tip on the Bronson store, as that's in my neighbourhood.

I thought a PC monitor would have to use one of my PCI slots (which are full), but if there's an adaper to use the standard Monitor Out then yeah, I could use whatever I can find.  I'm glad I don't need an Apple brand, since the Mac Group doesn't have any older ones right now.
