Title: Ancient Mac
Post by: drmjnd on June 05, 2007, 11:53:41 AM
Hi, all
I have an archaic Mac SE from the mid-late '80s that I'd like to stop storing, but there are a few files I would like to save (Wordperfect, all fit on one disk).  I have been told that if I can transfer them from a 720 kb disk to a 1.44 mb disk then they could be moved to a CD using more current technology.  To do that, I am looking for someone with an older Mac who would be willing to help out.  I am told that what would work is a Quadra 840AV/900/950 or a PowerMac 6400/6500/7000-9600.  Anybody able to assist?
thanks,
MJ

Yup, I have all of those. Well... most of them. You don't have to transfer to a 1.44MB "diskette" though. My drives all read 720KB so that isn't necessary, and then I can burn it to a CD for you. Email me off-list and we can arrange something.
